about

This 6 song EP was created over the years 2020-2022 and stalled in the production studio once I started mastering it.

The first four tracks are similar to the songs on Poolside Chillhop, my debut album, they're lofi and chill-out and relaxing music to have on by the pool.

The last two tracks on this album use lyrics which is something as a producer I was never really comfortable with. Breaking out of my comfort zone definitely helped as the last two tracks are easily my favorites and have given me a new artistic direction and freedom to explore more of this style.

Let's be honest briefly. The album name "Wyldlyfe" is meant to be a reflection of my life. The track "Against the Clock" is my fear of dying, trying to leave a legacy for my son and be eternal through music. It is one of the main reasons why I started producing music, in hopes that future generations will discover this, enjoy it, and possibly start making their own dreams a reality. Art will undoubtedly, last forever, even as technology and AI progress, human made art is undeniably something special.

The track "Dusty Moonscapes" was written as a challenge to use a certain set of samples and make it sound halfway decent without bringing in lots of different samples from other artists.

And finally, the last track, "The Afterlife is for the Ghosts" is a bizarre one. I have many inspirations and artists I look up to like DJ Shadow, Ant (from Atmosphere), Brother Ali, Bonobo, NIN, Fatboy Slim and Moby. I wanted to find a weird sample no one had dared remix. And I landed on a Mr. Rogers episode that aired in 1968 after JFK was assassinated. I ended up cutting up Daniel the Tiger and him discussing what dying is like by air moving in and out of a balloon. I absolutely LOVE this track. It is so weird, and yet keeps you listening and wanting to know more, then it just drops and you feel..... strange. The emotional roller coaster on this one is sweet and I hope to recreate more songs along this style.

As an independent artist it is extremely gratifying to see people enjoying my music and im so very thankful for all of the notes, emails, social media messages and in-person kudos from my fans, friends and family. I always procrastinate on releasing music as im very anxious about it not being good and being criticized for my sampling and production style. So thank you for supporting me and this album.
